To anyone else who's still a 20s-something beginner in filmmaking (or at least was one at some point), have you ever felt worried about making way too many projects at once and maybe ending up with a messy overssaturated filmography as a result? And if so, do you feel like that's a valid concern to have?
Personally speaking, I really wanted to go all out this year and direct maybe three or four different short films, and I know I could probably keep a consistent quality across all of them, however, given it's only possible to invest in a festival run for a single one of those, it kind of worries me that the others will probably just be abandoned for the record on YouTube and Vimeo. And of course, it's not that there's anything wrong with making art for the sake of art, but would it give off a bad impression for whoever looks up my work to see dozens of shorts that have received virtually no public attention at all? Would it scream "young amateur trying way too hard to look like a big shot by padding his filmography " if my IMDB page was full of obscure titles like those? Or am I just being self-conscious and making up an issue out of something that most people probably wouldn't really care about?
