I've been leaning really hard on vertical crops lately in general. Yeah, lots of classic neg in here in general, it plays off all the stark sunshine (it was a 38c day with fuck all clouds, based Aussie autumn) and reds really well.
Horizontal crop really doesn't work for me there, as I have to choose between cutting off the lanterns or framing the people really awkwardly. If the man weren't wearing glasses a really tight crop/taking the photo much closer along these lines would have been cool though.
