I'm convinced they lose money on some of their amateur oriented bodies, especially the eos rp. Thats because theyre one of two brands with a lions share 2/3 market control and they have a massive r&d budget. Once they bait you in with attractive specs, they've got you hooked into their system and it's easier to stay than to sell your gear and move on. Canon is completely soulless. I'd avoid the big 3.
Give fuji, olympus and ricoh a try. I'm not asking you to buy any of them. Just do some more research before you fall head first into an anemic ecosystem. Theyre the only manufacturers left making cameras with character.
