>1. What’s been your experience with Leica cameras?
I bought an M3 and 50mm dual-range summicron. I used it occasionally for about 3 years and then sold it.
>2. For those of you who’ve owned one, did the camera impact your photos or your experience of taking photos?
It didn't really change my photos or let me do anything I couldn't already do with another camera. I did like the lens though, it was a good lens. However, using a rangefinder camera is a pain in the ass and in my opinion it was totally inferior to shooting with an SLR in pretty much every way.
The camera and lens were both beautiful objects in themselves and tons of fun to hold and shoot and turn all the knobs and stuff. It felt like a brick shithouse of a camera in a way that few other cameras do.
>3. What’s one thing people should know about owning and using a Leica?
It's just a fucking camera
>4. What was the buying experience like? Was it worth the (presumed) investment?
I bought it off of KEH, so it was in perfect mechanical condition and decent cosmetic condition for a pretty fair price. Cameras are not investments, nothing about buying any camera is "worth it". I managed to resell it for roughly the same price that I bought it for, minus the hassle of dealing with selling stuff on ebay and the fees.
