>>3044747In actual use, the 1.4 is soft and low contrast wide open, whereas the L is sharp at every aperture, so I use the L exclusively. Also dat 1.2, also dat swag. I would not be surprised at all if the abberations clear up a lot at longer focusing distances, it really is flawless almost all the time. Pic related is wide open, for example. You can see from that little patch of coma flare in the background.
Also worth pointing out that the f/8 images, with any sharpening at all applied, would be razor sharp for all practical purposes.
Also, the 1.2 has obvious barrel distortion, the 1.4 less, the macro none.
