The point I made was that large files take longer to write to disc thus potentially clogging the buffer and slowing the potential burst rate. For a sports photographers, and maybe a catwalk photographers too ( I don't know, I've never done one) burst rate, plus a tracking system with the tenacity of a pit bull is more important than file size.
If you don't routinely shoot fast moving stuff then you are paying extra for redundant functionality at the expense of the flexibility to crop later should it be required. Most pros I know don't piss cap-ex away on shit they don't need.
I don't really give a flying fuck what editorial fashion photographers use, the vanity industries turn my stomach. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go and shoot slow moving editorial images.
