>I might as well buy a working VI-L with selectable framelinesDon't, the VI-L viewfinder sucks ass it's a lot smaller than the Ps. The 50mm framelines on the VI-L are almost in the corner of the viewfinder kinda like how the 35mm framelines are on the P.
As for the selectable 35mm "framelines" there are no framelines it just rotates the viewfinder to a 0.65x magnification viewfinder where the whole viewfinder window is equivalent to 28mm for some reason...
The only cool thing about the VI-L is the 1.55x magnification setting which is helpful for getting critical focus, but having to switch between that and the proper framelines does get annoying for everyday shooting, it's better suited for portrait work.
