How are photos like this edited to look so crisp and vivid? Because I've actually been to the very place in pic related, I've taken countless pics, even from that same spot, at various points during the day, with multiple settings, with and without a tripod, with different lenses and they all came out looking mediocre. I don't know if my expectations are high but I generally tend to edit my photos as little as I can and they look fine, but nothing stunning. Too much editing and tweaking and they all start to look like the same overblown instagram photos taken by some random DSLR monkey from Romania.
So, what do you generally need to do to achieve this kind of look?
