>>4251475Not from this board so excuse my retardation and extreme wordiness. And I realize this is like going to /o/ or a car enthusiast forum and asking about a replacement for an '05 Honda Accord in """gold""" but I need some help. I've had a Sony DSC-HX50V for years. Actually, two of them. They went almost everywhere I went because they were small and fit in jacket pockets and pouches easily. Problem is, after a while, they both died rather suddenly. Got a good two or two and a half years out of each one, used. That's fine, they're cheap. But they both died the same way. First one I tried to repair and gave up on as I quickly found out there was no way in hell I was going to fix it even with my somewhat decent repair skills. Second is untouched, dead, with a 32:60 lens error. Turns on, lens comes out, menus pop up as they should, but no picture is displayed and it eventually just collapses the lens back into the camera and tells me to turn it off and on. The flash also randomly died on at least the second one, possibly both, and the menu wheel starts bugging out within about 1-1.5 years which makes navigating menus fun. This camera wasn't meant for daily use/carry like I need. Too fragile/cheap. I'm not abusing these cameras, just bringing them along wherever I go, which means a lot of bouncing up and down in my belt pouch or pocket and the rare bump into a wall or table, which I guess kills them eventually, though sooner than I'd like...
