I like how the old city center of my hometown has plenty of these places that are pretty much the same as in the 90's, just worn out and declined over the decades of downtown slowly dying in the death grip of gigantic automarket malls by the highways. The main promenade is still alive and well but go immediately outside of it and you're in a museum.
