Their normal turf is the gear threads. Usually their “opinions” are just mirroring what they've already heard and tend to take the form of brand, or minor details in gear (so Sony vs Canon, f/1.4 vs f/1.8) making all the difference because they can't appreciate that good photos can be made with any gear.
