>>3401813Yeah it's definitely been a challenge to decide how to pack. I used to bring *everything* - my Toyo and four lenses, ten film holders, a bigger tripod. It was pushing 40 pounds for just the camera stuff. My thoughts was that I should just tough it out and that's how you do it, but I also rarely produced any shots from backpacking trips that I liked back then. I was fine with the weight of that for day hikes, but was weighed down and exhausted once I added the extra gear of an extended trip. I travel much lighter now and it really does keep me fresh for shooting. /out/ might be an ok place, stopped by there one time and it didn't seem like a bunch of bickering. That was a good while ago.

The landscape might start getting a little weird, desert rocks can twist the mind. That and the best shooting is often well before sunrise or after sunset, producing even light but very strong and glowing colors. Velvia 50.
