>>4218282I recently bought an M10 with a couple of lenses, second hand. Normally I shoot nikon, mostly wildlife/bird. I wanted to have something that is a) relatively small b) great quality and c) (weird as this may sound) forces a slower approach, some mindfulness if you will.
My verdict so far is that the camera is great. The lenses are amazing (Leica lenses that is, Voigtlander is not on the same level, at least in my opinion).
The process of taking photos is quite different from what I am used. Realize that there are limitations, it is slower, and it requires practice to get good at. On the other hand, it helped me look at scenes in a different way and compose in a more thoughtful manner (yes you absolutely can do that without a Leica).
But most importantly, I absolutely enjoy using it. Feels nice, very focused (or small, or limited if you prefer) feature set, easy to take along, completely different way to approach taking photos (for me at least). If you derive enjoyment from using something that is extremely well built, minimal, different while also being ludicrously expensive, a Leica might be for you. In my case it also helped me along to become a better photographer, but that could be had much cheaper of course.
I would suggest to ignore all the turbo autists that consider the only aspect of anything to be features per dollar, as if human beings looked at the world like that. That would be, of course, a ridiculous notion ignoring the many other aspects, not least of all beauty and aesthetics. Beauty begets beauty.
