You could manage with either camera by just not expecting the camera to do much work and mostly shooting with the rear screen as a focus trackpad and a limited AF areas. Great flower/cat cameras. But everything made since 2005 is a great flower/cat camera and works as good, usually better, with a restricted AF area.
It's just substandard.
