>>3517326because for the 2nd and 3rd gen maxxums, the ones with an "i" and "xi" suffix, minolta came up with a gimmick card system to control some functions of the camera, many of them being basic functions standard on pretty much all other contemporary SLRs. so, unless you had a particular card, say for exposure bracketing or multi-exposure, you were locked to use that funcion. I heard there's a special custom card that unlocks everything but you'd still have to hunt for it.
I'm a minoltafag but I've never bothered with that gen of maxxum cameras, as the latest gens are no-gimmick fully functional and not that much more expensive, except the higher end models of course.
