I'm pretty impressed with the photos that come out of my 11 Pro Max. I feel like it's the first phone I've had where I can actually treat photos as actual photography and not just utter snapshits. That said it only comes close to replacing a real camera in one relatively narrow niche, wide angle natural light photography, and so there are still a lot of things my real camera can do that the iPhone can't. It has some downsides too, it's way more of a hassle getting photos onto my PC, and the magical low light shit it does doesn't work with the ultrawide, which is disappointing because I really like ultrawide shots at night.
It also really struggles with white balance in some situations, I shot a bunch out of an airplane a few months ago and most ended up nearly unusable because of WB. (This one was recoverable, though.)
