I actually posted a bunch of pics after I first bought my camera and got an overwhelmingly positive response with some good suggestions. I think, though, that to get anything worthwhile you need to have a set of thematically and/or technically similar images. The nature of an anonymous image board means that you have no profile to contextualize what you post, so you have to provide that context within each self contained thread (unless you tripfag which has its own issues).
After hanging around here for a few weeks now, it has become obvious that it's still very much 4chan and as a result half the threads are just shitposting (usually about gear). At that point the board is probably counter-productive to any artistic development.
In conclusion, 7/10 if posting your pics, and if done in sets. 1/10 if you do anything else. The question is, where's a better place for posting and getting feedback, and "developing as an artist"?
