A prime lens will force you to think more creatively make you consider your composition and what you'd like to achieve. Carry two, one each either side of 50mm and you're basically set for life. Standard zooms are for boomers taking travel snapshits and paid photogs that need that 24-120mm f/2.8 so they never miss a shot. Futhermore, relying on post processing exclusively to fix your mistakes that come OOC is just going to keep you being a shit photographer.
