Can someone help explain this to me so I don't ruin an entire roll of film?
So, with my film roll already loaded and ready to shoot, I attach my cable release to the lens' mirror lockup hole thing and then I press the shutter button on the camera body so that the mirror flips up (or down?) and the leaf shutter then closes. I can no longer see anything through the viewfinder so I would have needed to compose and focus my shot before performing that action.
At this point I can now press the cable release to fire the shutter on the lens for the intended shutter speed time, and then I cock the mirror lever and advance the film?
How does pressing the shutter button on the body not expose the negative to light?
