>>2624160If I don't make an effort to try and describe where I'm coming from, how can anyone give me good advice for the road ahead? I'm not unique, but most people would be better off with a convenient digital system - I feel like I'm not there, so I try and describe why, without any delusions of snowflakeness.
>>2624178I'm an idiot, and I'll never go to the lengths of using a tripod and cable release in the pursuit of perfect sharpness. If there isn't enough light to get a sharp enough image while carefully hand-holding the camera, I'll try again another day. My budget is flexible, I don't mind the cost of film. Mamya 7 could probably work for me, but I don't think I should go for anything bulkier than some kind of folder. I *need* something that conforms roughly to 45-55mm full-frame, gfw690 won't work.
>>2624185I am. Haven't even considered a TLR, and that's probably a mistake. They look weird, and I'd probably need to try one to see if they could work for me.
>>2624206Yes. My 30/1.4 happens to have just enough barrel distortion to sometimes be annoying with strong straight lines. I care enough about it to mention it.
>>2624120Has it been confirmed anywhere that Fuji keeps making gf670s? I thought they produced a limited amount of both and then just stopped making both the bessa iii and the gf670. If I can help it I don't want the gf670. I don't like silver cameras, I want it all black - and I'm willing to pay the price difference for it.
To me there's two medium format cameras that seem like obvious choices for me. The bessa iii/gf670, and the plaubel makina. I prefer to buy new stuff, so I want to make up my mind while there's still new bessa iiis to be found.
Thanks for the advice guys. I appreciate it. I know I "waste words" and never get to the point. You guys don't, and that's great.
