i think fuji is popular with hobbyists because it's generally cheaper and smaller than the top lines of the major brands, but has a deeper lens catalog and bigger community than the similarly sized/priced lines from those other brands. the fuji bodies that aren't cheap/small are relatively unique in design or capability
i would recommend you not buy a camera until you've done some research on photography and have at least a direction or type of subject you want to shoot
