The a7riii body is also all around better than the X-T2.
a7riii isn't what I'd call compact though. It is pretty damn small compared to other FF DSLRs, but it isn't pocketable or anything (but then again, neither is the X-T2). They are great thrown into a small bag though.
As long as you stick to primes, lenses are for the most part small on both systems.
