>>3617623>>3617745It's mostly the stigma of old C41 kits that had formaldehyde in the stabilizer.
But just about all C41 kits these days can be disposed of in the same methods as B/W chems because they don't have shit like that in them anymore. The only nastiness is the blix with the silver in the exhausted liquid like any other fixer. But again, neutralize and it can be dumped with other B/W exhausted fixer.
This is why I love ECN2. Properly formulated ECN2 is perfectly clear and smells like D76. It's only when you let it get polluted with Remjet (which you shouldn't, Remjet will make that shit highly alkaline) and sensitizer dyes from Vision that it starts looking like shit. Anywhere from purple to fucking green depending on how you prebathed the film. I think Sodium Bicarbonate prebath leaves the purple dies and Sodium Carbonate leaves the green. But that can be passed off because old HP5 would turn my dev purple if I didn't prebath.
Pic related: shitty pic from a Polaroid Slide duplicator for an IT8 color test of my fourth ECN2 recipe and process revision. Blurry as hell but I can see the color squares well enough to say this revision is good.
