>>3321987I tried using another one of the lenses in that CRT grouping. It is one of the plastic lenses. The back side is oddly shaped. I made a makeshift barrel and focusing tube for it with a paper aperture. The way the lens is made causes the focus to have rings. You can have the center focused with everything else out of focus or you can have a focused ring around the unfocused center with all the outer stuff unfocused. Evidently, something weird was being done in the lens grouping that required this odd design.
Here's the ghetto lens and some test shots. Certainly, only usable in some "art" style photography. The CA is off the charts. Video makes things look fisheyed and like a funhouse mirror.
The lens is 92mm in diameter and has a focal length of 145mm.
