I have tried to recreate that photo a few times, and it really makes you appreciate what went into it.
>dog intersected by pole>dog on DOG HOUSE intersected by pole (dog house has bomb chili dogs btw)>shadow of street sign looks like a dog panting>wtf is that dog just doing sitting on the main drag of albuquerque >visual repetition of the hydrant and the car tire>overgrown sidewalks and unfinished landscaping next to all the signifiers of "civilization" (fire hyrdant, stop two sets of stop lights, street sign poles, crosswalks), classic wild west shit.all in all a neat photo. I prefer Winogrand's Albuquerque shot, though I haven't been able to figure out where the fuck he shot this.
