Just get one of those chink shit studio lighting kits to start. You can find them even cheaper on ebay or AliExpress if you don't mind waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive from China. To start you want at least two lights, one for front fill and one for back fill otherwise it looks a little flat. Three point lighting is ideally where you want to end up. Look up "three point lighting" on Google. I just use a desk lamp for back fill and two of pic related.
