it works well especially for the $300 that you can buy them for with included kit lenses. AF-P kit lens is really sharp and quiet and fast. Autofocusing on the nikon d3300 is fast in general. I didn't have an issue with only having one control dial, but it might be for you. Probably the best camera you can get for $250-300
