Wow I can't believe this thread is still alive. I've been traveling the last four weeks doing art shows, and while I've been shooting quite a bit still it's really eaten into my developing, scanning, and screwing around online time. The last two weeks I just took a smaller format with me (6x7) so here's one from that.
>>3493944Hmmm there's some pretty gnarly color casts going on there. So even the Epson Scan auto exposure isn't getting you close? It typically should - though usually a bit more green/cyan for my taste and it struggles with sunrises/sunsets. Color casts like what you're showing usually happen from extremely underexposed film (negative film cannot handle underexposure well) or perhaps stuff that wasn't developed well. Your sky seems to be somewhat close to real which means it may have been exposed properly, but you canyons are in deep shadow and severely underexposed. Either expose way more or use GND filters. Other than that it might take some more time learning how to work with color. Make sure to check out my scanning blog posts.
>>3493947Most of the stuff is legit from the road or nearby, or along the tracks in the industrial parts of these towns. I just park and wander around on foot in those areas, they are always void of people. If you want to go one someone's property always ask, never go tromping around on their fields - they get really paranoid.
