Edward Burtnsky - nobody does better gritty industrial landscapes than him. He makes them look beautiful even though his message is how bad they are.
John Sanderson - his railroad landscape series is great railroad photography without actual trains.

William Eggleston - Has some great shots even if he's called himself a snapshitter. I can totally resonate with his "at war with the obvious" idea as well.
