>>4065745I've been looking into traditional cel animation as an artistic experiment and was reading about how much the camera itself was involved; typically it was done on a rostrum film camera where you could freely and easily wind the reel back and forth
My question is: is film is worth it specifically for animation? Ideally I would like to work with film but it's prohibitively expensive for a (relative) poorfag like me, and there's enough expense in the cel work and the animation frame setup, but I also don't want to sacrifice too much of the film feel (otherwise if it gets too digital I may as well just animate in toonboom or something)
I should establish I already have a DSLR to work with, and that I'm curious specifically about how film impacts drawn art, not just film vs digital in general
