>>3710794>>3710798>>3710801And yeah I'd recommend you get a converted camera over an IR filter. The exposure times with a filter (depending on its strength) are absurd, like we're talking 8-10 minutes and beyond.
The second I used a converted camera and could shoot infrared handheld I really started to enjoy it. Normally you need a 720nm filter and up to get striking results and the exposure times just aren't worth it. Get a converted camera if you really want to do it right.
Also make sure you have a lens that works well with IR. A lot of them have hot spots or perform badly. There's a database here:
