The good, higher-end lenses today usually have better transmissivity (t-stoppage) and are actually sharp wide open.

The vast majority of 25+ years old lenses are not really sharp wide open.

But of course they did feature large apertures, too. Making your lens' aperture large isn't the hard part, after all.

You can drop the "for mirrorless". It's *the* best 50mm.

Admittedly, the Otus and Sigma Art and others are amazing glass too, but this one IMO wins overall.

Even if you insist, it's not really changing much. The 50mm Loxia still is neat.

There's already a small Sony 28mm f/2 for much less with decent optics (other than distortion, which should be an issue for the Batis as well, but is easily correctable other than corners). The only thing close to the 85mm is the 90mm f/2.8 macro which is good but huge and slow-ish.

I'll take the 55mm F1.8 ZA, which has AF, similar quality optics and is tons cheaper than the Otus, or a Batis with OIS and AF.
