The point is that while you do have the choice to not post a photo, the idea behind the board is that it's for sharing images that you have taken so that others can comment on them as they see fit. I agree that calling someone a nophoto is pretty childish in some regards and is definitely often a copout from having to actually address a person's post, but not posting photos is, at the same time, a copout from having your own work confronted and addressed. I really do get the impression that most gearfags are outsourcing their opinions and photographic validity onto the manufacturers of the ools they would use for photography, since it's easier and less scary than forming an opinion of your own about the artform and then putting the work in to make that opinion a viewable reality for other people.
