I'm not OP if you think that. I recently bought an X-T3, so I'm not looking for a larger sensor camera anymore, I already bought it. It was the lowest cost option that ticked all the boxes for the kind of photography I wanted to do, and I'm very happy with it.
I would have been miserable both if I had chained myself to my phone, or if I had overspent on full frame gear, and neither would have been conducive to me going out, taking pictures and becoming a better photographer. Overspending doesn't make people better photographers, but gear masochism is just as bad, and that's why gear really does matter.
