>>3527922>I dislike my 1Ds Mk1; it takes great pictures, but the Digic 1 processor is too slow to handle the 11.1MP files and becomes unresponsive for several seconds after just one shot. Then the 1Ds mark ii would be a huge upgrade to the original 1Ds.
I own the D800 as well and i found that the 1ds mark is just as fast as the 1ds mark ii. But surprisingly the 1dsii can scroll through the image faster than my d800 probably thanks to the dual digic and the huge rear scroll dial. It can scroll through the image just as fast as my old canon 60d.
Image quality wise it has decent resolution with similar dynamic range to the canon 6d mark ii. The weak AA filter makes the image really sharp sooc. and the colors are really nice as well, should be similar to the 5d classic and your 1d.
Overall its still very usable in 2019. I bought my first one 3 years ago for 500$ (payed a bit too much), and a second one for 150$ because the owner thinks that its already dead and he doesn't have any working batteries. But when i got home and tested it with my batteries it works fine and i haven't found any issue with it.
I wish canon would still inovate their cameras like they did 15 years ago. Its weird that they now have become lazy. It seems that upgrading the 1ds to the 1ds mark ii is comparable to upgrading the original A7 to the A7iii.
