>>3577385I think zoos are a necessary evil. They educate people about animals that are endangered/threatened. Also, many of these animals are former circus animals/offspring of other animals raised in captivity. I'm not sure how I feel about it all. I know that most zookeepers are decent folks who just love animals, and I know that zoos have always been a way for people to see animals that they would otherwise only read about in books. Still, it does leave a bad taste in my mouth when I see a tiger pacing in their enclosure waiting for food.
