>>3489723The pre-M Leicas are a pain in the ass because of the separate RF. The Canon 7 and P aren't bad if you get one cheap, but they're clunky and the rangefinder patches are dim and shitty. You're also stuck using antiquated lenses. The QL17 is fun to play with, but the finder isn't great and the fixed 40mm lens is too limiting for a general purpose camera.
>>3489812This. The M-mount Voigtlanders are the best value in rangefinders. The finders are as good or better than leica, they have modern film handling, electronically timed shutters, TTL metering, and some models have aperture priority AE. The only downsides are shorter RF base length and the fit and finish isn't as good as Leica. Prices have been climbing lately, but you can still find a R2 for under $500 with a little patience.
