Plenty of non-retarded people dropped out of the aviation schoolhouses. My ALSS class (6048 USMC, PR Navy rate) started out with like 10 marines and 10 sailors, and graduated 3 marines and 2 sailors. We had to maintain a 80% average the whole time, and had to be perfect at our practical exams. Then again, one wrong tacking on an ejection seat parachute could make it either not deploy or deploy incorrectly, either way being a virtual death sentence.

You should be doing college now. I left with an associates, then got my degree in Forestry when I got out, and now I'm a GS-9 getting the qualifications I need for GS-11/12 jobs. Have just enough time left on my GI bill to get my MS and not have to worry about bills.
Also, save your $$$$$ and don't marry a stripper. I left with enough money for a down payment on a house, and I've only seen a stripper marriage work out once.
