My current mountaineering kit includes body, macro, 17mm 1.8, and 100-300mm telephoto zoom, all tucked in at the side of mid sized backpack, leaving plenty of room for waking sticks when it's safer to have them tucked away while climbing. Weight is less than a 1.5l water bottle, and I'm seriously considering buying another body, so I'll have less hassle switching lenses. Time is important, and I often find myself not having the time to switch lenses when opportunity arrives.
