I've never had problems with lens size while carrying camera out but storage in a bag is a different thing as a T-shaped object is kinda awkward. It's going to be my smallest lens so far and while it might fit in my winter coat's pocket without lens hood, usually I just fling camera out in open with a shoulder strap, now I might even carry it on a shoulder strap under coat if needed because cold weather.
Difficulty of quickly tossing it into a bag carelessly has been the biggest problem.
