Or is it just that certain people expect to pixel-peep 35mm flatbed scans at 2400 dpi? I mean, generally the detail just ain't gonna be there to begin with.
Pic related, tri-x in a german zone-focus compact with a decent lens. (made in West Germany! and the batteries were also made in West Germany, ha ha.) Scanned at 2400 dpi, looks about the same as it does on a 5x7 wet print.
