I have a question: I have a D3200 and a 50mm 1.8G (apart from a shitty 18-105mm 3.5-5.6), and I've been thinking of getting the 35mm 1.8 DX as well. 50mm (on a crop body) is great for portraiture, but for landscape, tourism and all around snapshots, it's not very great. It's not very great for taking pictures of your friends without having to go back and make it "serious". The dilemma however is that I feel like they might be too similar; that I'd be better off with a 35mm and an 85mm lens, or a 50mm and 24mm lens, at least if I'm only going to have two primes and a zoom. I don't have a lot of money, and the money I have, I'd like to save for a car or something like that, even though the 35mm 1.8 DX is cheap.
So what do you think? Should I get the 35mm 1.8 DX as well or would it make too little of a difference compared to the 50mm 1.8G I already have?
