I have my doubts that it managed to short itself, but could it have? My only evidence that it didn't is that it turned on and took pictures with no hiccups prior to not turning on. Though, I feel it maybe could have because when I pulled the SD card out it still had water droplets on it, but none on the contacts. I wiped the SD card off and re-inserted it and the camera said it did not recognize it. Turned it off, pulled out the SD card and used a card reader to pull images off it just fine. Then I put the SD card back in the camera and the camera would not turn on.
Should I send a support ticket to Canon or see if a local shop could do it?
