>>4045080>>4045122I have a D3300 and it's my first camera. I think it's a fine beginner camera - it's light, has good battery life, good image quality. The main downside for me is restrictions on using it with old (and cheap) lenses. You can't use super old Nikon glass (non-Ai) without physically modifying it. D3xxx doesn't have screwdriver, so you don't get autofocus with AF Nikon glass (which can be very good value). I'm absolutely fine with manual focus in most things I do, but it's really hard with this camera. With the viewfinder your have to rely on your eyes only, reeeaaaally straining them. It's a actually easier to focus with old film camera because at least you have this matted glass ring thing. With live view it's somewhat easier, but far from perfect because of relatively low-res fixed display.
With d3000 you get much older CCD sensor with kinda low resolution, no live view at all and also can't use af-p lenses.
