>>4069408They just trade 1-2 stops in the highlights for 1-2 stops in the shadows. If you aren't clipping your highlights at DR100, all you're doing is forcing yourself into a higher ISO setting (more noise, less ability to shoot wide open in daylight).
If you shoot RAW, your best off always at DR100 and just watching your highlights and underexposing for highlights / ETTR when possible.
