>>2710936The 18-135 can focus down to 0.45m, the STM version down to 0.4m, and both have an aperture from f/3.5–5.6 to f/22–38.
I've checked the 85mm, 100mm and 135mm prime lens, none of them can focus as close, and they all have higher viewing angles (which is my biggest problem).
I have boards which are half the size, and boards which are three times larger. I can adjust my stand vertically, but that is not always feasible. So a zoom lens would be so much more flexible.
Image quality wise I can do awesome close-ups with my 18-55mm kit lens, I'd need the 18-135 to reduce the viewing angle for the full-board shots. And if I can use the 18-135mm to do close-ups only as good as the 18-55mm, then I won't even need to change lens during shooting; which also makes things faster and easier.
