Red is the part of the sensor that gets used for 4k. Now, that in itself isn't that much of a problem. MFT is not much larger, and still gets decent quality out of it, and big high end and utlra expensive broadcast cameras have even smaller sensors. BUT. The big problem is that all the lenses for canon's mount are designed for full sensor size.
