>>3884323>The center column can be inverted so that the mount is underneath the apex rather than above it.i didn't realize mine could do that until last week! up until that point i'd been propping up my light table at a 45 degree angle, which absolutely sucked (i had to re-focus for pretty much every frame). i have it set up flat/inverted in the pic, which works so much better; i had to correct focus/framing once in the course of 250 frames. but the tripod itself is a bit loosey-goosey in the joints, in a way that's a little worrying (it's ok for most things, but it's had a hard life. wasn't joking when i said it was from 1956)
>>3884326my main issue is not having enough space to leave the tripod+light table set up and undisturbed in one spot. it's different having a full copy stand that you can put under the table with the camera still attached. also, i don't use the camera for much, but i *do* use the tripod for other stuff
>>3884295if you have the DSLR and tripod already, and can beg/steal/borrow a macro lens/macro tube and a shitty amazon light table, i say give it a shot. it's probably the best quality you'll get without picking up a dedicated 35mm scanner for $300 (although i'm sure that's a wee bit faster)
