Most people can get exposure right, the bare minimum technical requisite, but creating something memorable is another matter.
Hell, Stanley Kubrick is proof of it. In photography, he never managed to go beyond being a forgettable hack. Filmmaking got him praise and glory. A mediocre photographer can be a great filmmaker, but a mediocre filmmaker will never be a great photographer.
