Great portability. Okay lens (the XA2 lens is sharper). Super sensitive and tactile-less shutter button. Focus patch can be dim but it's an easy fix. Controls are good, but if you have big hands can be cumbersome. Meter is fantastic. Manual film advance and iso setting don't leave for much else to break. Also makes it by far the most affordable, pocket-friendly camera with some manual control (Aperture priority and exposure compensation by adjusting the ISO).
If you plan to shoot lots of close focus / critical focus stuff (3m and closer) the XA is a good choice. If you are buying it mainly for landscape / far focusing the XA2 is a better choice (though the XA2 is fully auto aside from the iso setting).
